Pinewood is assisted by a number of important outside organizations that provide various forms of assistance:


Dep

The Office of Overseas Schools (A/OS), U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C., U.S.A., through the U.S. consulate in Thessaloniki provides annual logistical and financial support for specific educational purposes since the early 1960’s.

 


NESA
 

The Near East / South Asia Council of Overseas Schools (NE/SA), based in Athens, sponsors separate annual conferences for administrators and teachers throughout the NE/SA region along with other professional development opportunities  for faculty.  Pinewood is also a Regular Member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS).

The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., provides the school with accreditation services and professional advice of various kinds. Pinewood administrators and teachers are periodically asked to serve on Middle States visiting teams to accredit other international schools in our part of the world.  Pinewood's initial accreditation was achieved in April 1986 and the school’s current accreditation with Middle States , its third, extends through April 2011.

The International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, provides regular guidance and support for the school’s IB Diploma Program.
