Admissions and Registration Procedures

Grade Level Placement

Students are placed in their proper grade level based on age, previous schooling, and ability, as determined by Pinewood administration and teachers using a variety of evaluation techniques.

Admissions Timetable

Students can be accepted at any time throughout the school year, except for Grade 12, in which case students must attend the entire year in order to graduate.

Change of Address and/or Phone Numbers

It is very important that the school be notified if families change residence, address, email address, or phone numbers (home, office, mobile) during the school year, as this information is particularly needed to make contact in case of emergencies or unexpected school closings. These changes should be communicated immediately either by calling the school secretary, or sending a note to the school office, or by email info@pinewood.gr
Early in the autumn, the school will be issuing to all parents a Pinewood Student and Parent Phone Directory 2007-2008, which will list by grade level the names of all students together with the names of the father and mother or guardian and the preferred telephone number at which they can be reached. Parents should note on the student application if they would prefer not to have their phone numbers listed.

E-mail Addresses

Parents having e-mail addresses will be asked to supply this information to the school as Pinewood is constantly seeking to widen its e-mail network to facilitate more immediate and effective communication. Send your email address to info@pinewood.gr and you will be added to our data base.

Living Arrangements for All Students

School policy requires that all students must live with their parents, or with a legal adult guardian. Secondary students are not allowed to live on their own in a house or apartment. Secondary students who need their own housing in order to attend Pinewood must reside in the Anatolia / Pinewood dormitory located on the school campus, regarding which information is available from the school office.

Withdrawals from the School

If a student must withdraw from the school for any reason during the course of the school year, the school office must be notified at least one week in advance of the withdrawal date in order to allow time to prepare the necessary grades and reports. No records will be released unless all required fees have been paid and all books and other materials belonging to the school have been returned, or, if lost, paid for. Refunds will be made according to the terms described below.

Expulsion from School

In cases of extreme misbehavior, a student may be expelled from school by the director, following consultation with the faculty. In such cases, the same procedure regarding records and payments will be followed as in the case of withdrawals as outlined above. No refunds of fees will be made.
