Annual Giving ensures a strong financial base for the school. The collective generosity of our parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents, faculty, business partners, and friends provides a unique educational environment where students receive a progressive, personalized American international education centered on academic excellence.

Annual Giving supports all aspects of Pinewood's educational and co-curricular programs from field trips and advanced teaching tools to Faculty Professional Development. The goal of our fundraising is to improve Pinewood through physical, technological, and educational innovations for which tuition dollars are not sufficient. Your gift is the basis for attracting and retaining our accomplished teachers and maintaining a dynamic learning environment in small group settings. GENERAL CAMPUS FUND

If you do not have a preference in how your donation is allocated, you may direct your donation to the General Campus Fund, which is used by the school for its greatest needs.  This summer we purchased two new Digital Projectors and computers.  This new equipment will help teachers bring more collaboration and interactivity into the classroom by allowing students to see high-resolution, full screen images of small text, 3D objects, and more!  One of the most high traffic spaces in the school, the IT Lab, is currently in the last phase of completion.  Pinewood added a Writing Center, tennis court, new lockers in the Secondary Division and resurfaced the floor of the gymnasium.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Pinewood provides a number of full and partial scholarships for students with high academic achievement and needs-based financial assistance to students who are highly motivated.  The scholarship fund at Pinewood enhances our diversity and creates an atmosphere of competitive stewardship.

We have established the Scholarship Fund with a goal to raise 100,000 Euros. All proceeds from this fund will provide scholarships or financial assistance to current Pinewood students or the recruitment of students who meet Pinewood’s admissions criteria. Donations to this fund will not only allow us to maintain our progressive educational mission but also increase the number of students who attend our school. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing these students succeed at Pinewood and with your generosity their success becomes a reality.

CURRICULUM ENHANCEMENT FUND

The Curriculum Enhancement Fund will support the purchase of supplemental materials, such as videos, CD’s and enrichment workbooks that are available from our textbook publishers, the purchase of necessary books and other media for the library and classrooms and speakers, artists and “outside experts” to share and interact with our students.  Two of our most important goals in the next five years are the development of a new, progressive Service Learning Curriculum from Grades 1-12 and programs promoting art, drama, and music.

TECHNOLOGY FUND

Our goal is to use technology to enable students to access, search, utilize, communicate and create information on the World Wide Web.  We want to broaden the definition of student achievement to include digital-age literacy, inventive thinking, effective communication, and high productivity—skills necessary for students to thrive in the 21st century.  The technology fund supports the maintenance for the connection of all school areas to a single network and thus to the Internet, the acquisition of application and educational software for all of the school’s computers and the upgrade and/or replacement of out- of-date computers and software.  Teachers are trained to integrate technology across the curriculum. Current dreams include the purchase of Smart Boards, the interactive whiteboard that combines the simplicity of a traditional whiteboard with the power of a computer and is widely proven to improve student-learning outcomes.
