Pinewood Student Council

In keeping with the school’s desire to promote democratic institutions and procedures to as great a degree as possible, a Student Council has been created for Grades 7-12. The organization has its own constitution and faculty advisors, and school wide elections are held each September for officers - President, Vice-President, Secretary /Treasurer. The Presidents of each of the Grades 7-12 also serve on the Student Council, making a total membership of ten. Meetings are held each week throughout the school year to discuss and plan a wide range of school activities and to deal with any major problems that arise in the school community. Minutes of all meetings are circulated and posted after each meeting. High standards of performance and behavior are expected, and members may be removed from the Student Council if they fall below expectations and are suspended or put on probation.
