About Us

A global learning community dedicated to growth, character, and purpose.
Pinewood American International School is an independent, co-educational, non-profit day and boarding school offering an American college-preparatory curriculum to students from Pre-K through Grade 12, serving both local and international communities. With English as the language of instruction, Pinewood provides a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where students are prepared to thrive in a global world.
Our student body of approximately 600 students represents over 55 nationalities, bringing together families from the diplomatic corps, international business, military, and the local Greek community. This rich diversity shapes a vibrant school culture grounded in mutual respect, global awareness, and meaningful connection. At Pinewood, students engage in a student-centered program that both challenges and supports them to grow into curious, creative, and caring thinkers, ready to make a positive impact.
Pinewood is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), reflecting a strong commitment to the highest standards of educational quality and a culture of continuous improvement through self-evaluation and peer review. The school is also authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme, the latter offered in partnership with Anatolia College. In addition, Pinewood is authorized by the College Board to offer the AP Capstone Diploma, along with a wide range of Advanced Placement (AP) courses, providing students with diverse and rigorous academic pathways.
