This year, Pinewood American International School proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary as a dynamic PreK–12 non-profit day and boarding school in Thessaloniki, Greece. Founded in 1950, Pinewood offers a challenging American, standards-based, college-preparatory curriculum within the framework of the International Baccalaureate (PYP, MYP, DP) and Advanced Placement® courses. We are the premier English-only school in the region.
For three-quarters of a century, Pinewood has been a beacon of possibility for young people. We empower a richly international student body to imagine the unimaginable, think independently, and treat others with respect. These commitments shape our core values—curiosity, creativity, and care—and reflect our belief that no two students are the same.
Our new Strategic Plan 2025-2030 builds on Pinewood’s strong foundation and sets our priorities for the next five years. Shaped by the voices of students, parents, faculty, staff, leadership, and Board initiatives, it reflects both the progress we have made and the aspirations that will guide us forward. Accredited in the United States by the Middle States Association (MSA) and supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Overseas Schools in Washington, DC, Pinewood includes the Early Years Program (Pre-K), Elementary School (Grades 1–6), Middle School (Grades 7–8), and High School (Grades 9–12).
I invite you to explore our website to see how we nurture students to be intellectually strong, emotionally balanced, culturally aware, and ready for an ever-changing global landscape.
