Senior Spotlight Interviews - Dean Maggs

Dean Maggs, Pinewood Class of 2025, joined the school after moving from Saudi Arabia and quickly embraced its dynamic, multicultural environment. As a half IB student focusing on Business, Economics, and English, Dean has grown both academically and personally during his time at Pinewood. Known for his adaptability and energy, he describes his experience here—especially in the dorms—as “like a movie,” full of spontaneity, late-night conversations, and lasting friendships. Outside the classroom, Dean is a passionate DJ and music producer, inspired by his father. His tracks have been played at events across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Greece, and music remains his creative outlet and source of calm. This fall, Dean will attend Ohio Wesleyan University to study Economics and Business, excited to embrace new experiences and bring with him a global perspective shaped by life on four continents.

Pinewood has made me way more culturally aware. You realize that cultural differences don’t divide people, they enrich things. Everyone deserves respect, no matter where they’re from or what they believe. Being around so many cultures changes how you think.
