Holocaust Remembrance Day 2025

Holocaust Remembrance Day 2025

Pinewood American International School is proud to honor Thessaloniki's Jewish history in the form of our yearly observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day. January 27, 2025, marks 80 years since the Soldiers of the 60th Army of the First Ukrainian Front liberated the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz.

This year's theme for Pinewood Holocaust Remembrance Day is Dislocated Communities in honor of the diaspora of Sephardic Jews that called Thessaloniki home before Nazi occupation where 90% of the population was rounded up and deported to concentration camps, including Auschwitz.

We join the international commemoration of the lives disrupted, lost, and sacrificed in the fight against genocide and discrimination.
