A Generous Gift for Pinewood

(ΕΝ) Heartfelt Thanks to the Masoutis Family

We are delighted to share wonderful news with our Pinewood community!

The Masoutis family has made a significant and meaningful gift to Pinewood in support of our Going Home building campaign—a gesture of generosity that will leave a lasting mark on the life of our school for generations to come.

Through Mr. Ioannis Masoutis’ donation, two signature spaces in our Middle & High School complex will bear the names of his dear parents, the great supermarket founder Diamantis Masoutis and his wife Georgia.

 

The Georgia Masouti Library
Our signature circular building (Guggenheim) will be transformed into The Georgia Masouti Library, and serve as the intellectual heart of our school. 

The Diamantis Masoutis Gymnasium
The Gymnasium will be named The Diamantis Masoutis Gymnasium, already a vibrant center of performance and school spirit.

The significance of this gift is reflected in its personal nature. Diamantis Masoutis, founder of Diamantis Masoutis S.A., established the company in 1976 right here in Thessaloniki and, through this generous contribution, continues to invest in his community, reflecting values of care and commitment to the city that Pinewood proudly shares.

The Georgia Masouti Library will be a place where students come together as a community of readers and thinkers. The Diamantis Masoutis Gymnasium is a place of school pride, uniting students through shared celebration. Together, these two spaces represent the very best of what a school can offer — a place to grow the mind and a place to build the spirit.

On behalf of the entire Pinewood community, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Masoutis family for their confidence in Pinewood and for investing in spaces where curiosity, community, and competition will flourish for generations.

Θερμές ευχαριστίες στην οικογένεια Μασούτη

Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά ανακοινώνουμε στην οικογένεια του Pinewood μια πολύ σημαντική εξέλιξη.

Η οικογένεια Μασούτη προχώρησε σε μια ουσιαστική και ιδιαίτερα σημαντική δωρεά προς το Pinewood, στο πλαίσιο της εκστρατείας μας Going Home — μια πράξη γενναιοδωρίας που θα αφήσει ένα διαχρονικό αποτύπωμα στη ζωή του σχολείου μας για τις επόμενες γενιές.

Μέσω της δωρεάς του κ. Ιωάννη Μασούτη, δύο εμβληματικοί χώροι του συγκροτήματος Middle & High School θα φέρουν τα ονόματα των αγαπημένων του γονέων, του ιδρυτή των σούπερ μάρκετ Διαμαντή Μασούτη και της συζύγου του, Γεωργίας.

Η Βιβλιοθήκη Georgia Masouti
Το χαρακτηριστικό κυκλικό μας κτίριο (Guggenheim) μετατρέπεται στη «Βιβλιοθήκη Georgia Masouti» και θα αποτελέσει την πνευματική καρδιά του σχολείου μας.

Το Γυμναστήριο Diamantis Masoutis
Το Γυμναστήριο θα φέρει την ονομασία «Γυμναστήριο Diamantis Masoutis», ένας ζωντανός χώρος δραστηριοτήτων, επιδόσεων, και σχολικού πνεύματος.

Η Βιβλιοθήκη Georgia Masouti θα αποτελέσει έναν χώρο συνάντησης, όπου οι μαθητές θα καλλιεργούν τη σκέψη και την αγάπη για τη μάθηση. Το Γυμναστήριο Diamantis Masoutis είναι ένας χώρος που θα ενώνει τους μαθητές μέσα από τη συμμετοχή, τη συνεργασία, και τη σχολική υπερηφάνεια. Μαζί, οι δύο αυτοί χώροι εκφράζουν το ουσιαστικότερο έργο ενός σχολείου: την καλλιέργεια του νου και τη διαμόρφωση του χαρακτήρα.

Η σημασία της δωρεάς αυτής ενισχύεται από τον βαθιά προσωπικό της χαρακτήρα. O Διαμαντής Μασούτης ίδρυσε την εταιρεία Διαμαντής Μασούτης Α.Ε. το 1976 στη Θεσσαλονίκη και, μέσα από αυτή τη γενναιόδωρη προσφορά, συνεχίζει να επενδύει στην πόλη και στους ανθρώπους της, εκφράζοντας αξίες φροντίδας και διαρκούς προσφοράς, τις οποίες το Pinewood μοιράζεται με υπερηφάνεια.

Εκ μέρους όλων μας στο Pinewood, εκφράζουμε τις θερμές μας ευχαριστίες προς την οικογένεια Μασούτη για την εμπιστοσύνη και τη στήριξή τους. Με τη συμβολή τους, δημιουργούνται χώροι όπου η γνώση, η συνεργασία, και η δημιουργική άμιλλα θα ανθίζουν για πολλές γενιές.
