    Secondary Principal

    Pinewood American International School seeks a highly qualified Secondary Principal on a full-time basis beginning September 1, 2019.

    Overview of the Position

    Reporting to the President, the Secondary Principal is the educational leader responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of Grades 6-12, including student welfare, regulation and guidance, implementation of the curricular program, internal and external communication, teacher support and appraisal and oversight of the secondary school budget.  The Secondary Principal also assists in the continuous development of the IB Diploma Program. The Secondary Principal is expected to work in close collaboration with the Administrative Leadership Team to meet strategic educational objectives.

    The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and skill sets:

    • Believe in the core values of developing curious, creative and caring thinkers
    • Recent leadership position in an English-speaking secondary school
    • An exemplary pedagogical leader with a focus on inclusive, student-centered practices
    • Experience with curriculum design in all areas of Secondary education
    • Well-versed in current best practices in education and the ability to implement them
    • An excellent communicator with notable people skills who is able to hold others accountable
    • Versed in creating a “culture of optimism, well-being and care” within a collaborative professional context
    • Holds a visionary understanding of ways in which our programs and educational goals can be enhanced
    • Understanding of and experience in managing Secondary student behavior and academic achievement
    • Native or near-native English speaker

    All candidates with U.S. or other non-European citizenship are required to possess a valid teaching license from their country of citizenship.

    Pinewood seeks a dynamic Elementary teacher for the 2019-2020 academic year. We seek a teacher who exhibits excellence in the classroom, encourages students’ development as informed ethical citizens of the world and is interested in working collaboratively with colleagues.  The ideal candidate will implement modern, student-centered approaches to teaching and learning and work cooperatively with students, parents and colleagues to create and support an inclusive, individualized, creative learning environment with student success, academically, emotionally and socially as the foremost goal.
