6th Grade trip to lake Kerkini

Post

The 6th grade students from Pinewood attended a spectacular 3 day retreat at Lake Kerkini. During this retreat, our students participated in many enrichment activities. They took a boat tour of the lake that was supplemented with an environmental awareness presentation. They were able to pet and feed water buffalo, as well as, indulge in some buffalo ice cream. They participated in zip-lining, wall climbing, and archery. They rode bikes along side the lake as flamingos were wading through the water and buffalos were grazing. They took a short hike to a centuries old church that was utilized as a hidden school and then finished their time together with horseback riding. In between these activities, the students participated in team building activities. Each day started and ended with wonderful meals all together. It was a great start to the school year.
