Exhibition TEMPLON. Sacred figures, invisible gates of faith

On Friday, the 27th of October, in the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, inaugurated a most interesting temporary exhibition titled:
TEMPLON. Sacred figures, invisible gates of faith.
20th and 21st centuries
The Exhibition presents 97 works of art, inseparably linked to the “Templon,” created by renowned modern Greek artists such as St. Almaliotis, K. Artemis, Sp. Vassiliou, G. Gliatas, N. Engonopoulos, G. Karoussos, F. Kontoglou, R. Kopsidis, M. Matsakis, K. Parthenis, D. Pelekasis and P. Rengos.
My favorite works of art, and my recommendation to notice, when you visit, are:
Two small paintings by Konstantinos Parthenis of an “ethereal-looking” Annunciation from the Church of Saint Alexander in Palaio Faliro in Athens
A “robust” Crucifixion drawing by Nikos Engonopoulos, originally done for the Church of Saint Spyridon in New York, now in the Velimezi Collection
All examples of the daring “innovative” art work by Rallis Kopsidis
