Trip to the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki and the Monastir Synagogue

As part of their preparation for the Pinewood Holocaust Remembrance Day, on Jan 27, History IB and Art through the Ages II students visited the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki and the Monastir Synagogue. Students took meticulous notes throughout the guided visit as they will be sharing the treasure of knowledge that they acquired with their World History 10 schoolmates later this month. Returning to campus, students expressed their deep admiration and respect for the invaluable contribution of the Jewish community to Salonika’s history and culture, highlighting the resilience of a people that suffered so much in the past and yet continues to shine in the present.
