AP with WE Service Program

The AP with WE Service program is an innovative initiative that combines the academic rigor of Advanced Placement (AP) courses with meaningful, structured community engagement. Developed in collaboration with the College Board and WE, the program empowers students to connect their classroom learning with real-world impact.

Through this approach, students move beyond traditional academic study by applying the knowledge and skills developed in their AP courses to service-learning projects that address local and global challenges. Each participating course is paired with a project that aligns with its content, allowing students to explore relevant issues in a deeper, more applied way.

A central feature of the program is the WE Service framework, which guides students through a process of inquiry, action, and reflection. Students identify a meaningful issue, design and implement a project, and reflect on both their learning and their impact. This process strengthens critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, while also fostering a strong sense of responsibility and global awareness.

Student work is evaluated based on the quality of their project, its connection to their AP course, and the impact it creates. Upon successful completion, students earn formal recognition through the AP with WE Service designation, highlighting both their academic achievement and their commitment to service.

Overall, AP with WE Service offers a powerful extension of the AP experience, encouraging students not only to excel academically but also to lead, contribute, and make a meaningful difference in the world around them.
