Pinewood is proud to be a member of Global Online Academy (GOA), a not-for-profit network of more than 150 leading schools worldwide. Through GOA, Pinewood expands learning pathways by offering rigorous, interest-driven online courses that complement our academic program and extend learning beyond the traditional classroom.

At Pinewood, GOA is more than an online course option. It gives students the opportunity to personalize their high school experience by choosing courses that match their interests, challenge their thinking, and connect learning to real-world questions and future goals. In many cases, GOA also gives students access to subjects that may not fit within a traditional school schedule.

About GOA Courses

GOA also supports self-discovery. A course may deepen an existing passion, spark a new one, or help students realize what is not the right fit. This kind of exploration is a valuable part of self-actualization: students grow not only in knowledge, but also in self-awareness, confidence, and direction.

Courses are taught by experienced educators from GOA member schools and combine academic rigor with interactive, project-based learning. Students collaborate with peers from around the world while building skills such as critical thinking, communication, creativity, and independence. Although the courses are online, the learning experience is highly relational, with meaningful interaction between students and teachers.

One of GOA’s greatest strengths is its flexibility. Because courses are primarily asynchronous, students can balance academics with extracurricular activities, athletics, and other commitments. At the same time, students are expected to stay organized, meet deadlines, and complete their work on time, as responsibility and active participation are essential to success.
