Report a Child Protection Concern

Pinewood is committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and secure environment for all members of the school community. Child protection and safeguarding are central to this commitment, and our policies and procedures are designed to guide prevention, reporting, and appropriate response to any concern related to student safety or wellbeing.

The Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy is available to the Pinewood community and can be accessed HERE.

Faculty and staff receive regular training on child protection, safeguarding responsibilities, reporting procedures, and the recognition of warning signs. Additional online and in-person training opportunities may also be provided throughout the year by the designated Child Protection Officers to further strengthen community awareness and understanding.

At Pinewood, the School Psychologists also serve as designated Child Protection Officers within their respective divisions. They are available for consultation by email, phone, or in-person meeting.

Concerns are handled confidentially and shared only with those who need to know in order to protect the child. However, confidentiality cannot be guaranteed when there is a concern about safety, abuse, neglect, or risk of harm.

Members of the Pinewood community are encouraged to report any safeguarding concern promptly. Reports may be submitted through the appropriate divisional reporting form or shared directly with a Child Protection Officer, Principal, or School Psychologist.
