Grade 7 students explored the process of creating organic, abstract sculptures. We looked at realistic and abstract sculptures by various artists and explored ways of abstracting a picture of an animal through drawing. We then learned how to use wire to create 3D forms and attached them to a wooden base. These forms were covered with tights and painted in layers to resemble the animal they first drew and/or give the essence of their environment. Please observe and take a guess of what they might represent!
