Autumn Harvest in the Kindergarten Class!

Post

Pinewood kindergartners dug in deep this past week and examined the miracle of seed sands our local autumn harvest. It all began with a story called, seeds, seeds, and more seeds. Little Benny had found some pebbles, marbles and seeds. He was curious about what kinds of things would grow if you planted them. So, kindergarteners began examining all kinds of seeds; tiny ones, large ones, fruit seeds, herb seeds, vegetable seeds. We counted and sorted and made amazing pictures with seeds, too! We were amazed at how many things grow locally that we enjoy eating! We also discovered that not all seeds produce something to eat. Next week, we’ll collect cotton, dye cotton fabrics, using berries, onion peels, and pomegranates. Hard to believe it all starts with seeds!!
