Grade 5 Science Experiment

Animal cells can be very difficult to comprehend. I chose a hands-on model to do with the 5th grade class in order to help them visualize the structure of the cell. With the help of parent donations, the students enthuastically created 4 uniqe cells as a group. Collaboration and team work were the keys to the enjoyment of the learning experience. Of course, eating the cells (Jello, marshmallows, rasisns, grapes, jelly beans, kiwi, and much more!) was the most enjoyable part of the lesson.
