‘Major Adjustments’ Visual art exhibition 2023

IB Visual Art Exhibition at Remezzo Gallery
On Thursday, March 16, seven IB2 art students officially opened their Visual Art Exhibition ”Major Adjustments” at the Remezzo Gallery in Kalamaria.
The young artists presented their work and explained the rationale, and engagement behind their art. It was inspiring to see how our students, under the guidance of their art teacher Ms. Kapanidou, explored various subjects and challenges in order to create engaging and meaningful artworks by experimenting with painting, sculpture, digital art, photography, printmaking, and video art.
There is a wide variety of topics that the students explored, all requiring the audience to critically think upon the issues depicted and consider the many small and big adjustments that our world requires today. The audience is called to contemplate on trending topics of the literal and symbolic manifestation of trauma, body image, and mental illness, as well as recurrent topics about our life cycle, the natural world with its beauties and its horrors, and a novel viewpoint on Greek mythological female characters.

Με μεγάλη επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκε η έκθεση visual arts των μαθητών του προγράμματος ΙΒDP του Pinewood International School, μαθητές Β’ και Γ’ Λυκείου, που διήρκησε 4 ημέρες στην Gallery Remezzo στη Καλαμαριά. Το Pinewood μέλος του Κολεγίου Ανατόλιο ως το διεθνές σχολείο του οργανισμού προσφέρει το πρόγραμμα IBDP και εξασφαλίζει την εισαγωγή των μαθητών σε πανεπιστήμια της Αμερικής αλλά και της Ευρώπης.
Τα θέματα που διερευνώνται σε αυτή την έκθεση ποικίλλουν πολύ, ωστόσο όλα απαιτούν από το κοινό να σκεφτεί σε βάθος τις μικρές και τις μεγάλες αλλαγές που χρειάζεται ο κόσμος μας. Το κοινό καλείται να αναλογιστεί σύγχρονα θέματα σχετικά με το ψυχικό και σωματικό τραύμα, την αποδοχή του εικόνας του σώματός μας και τις ψυχικές ασθένειες, καθώς και θέματα που βλέπουμε συχνά στην τέχνη, όπως ο κύκλος της ζωής, τις ομορφιές και ασχήμιες της φύσης, καθώς και μία νέα προσέγγιση στους γυναικείους χαρακτήρες της μυθολογίας.
