Article of the week:

This week’s article from The Atlantic magazine is of interest to all single and married women!

Your books have arrived!

The Scholastic Books have arrived and are in the Library. Come down to the library to get your order during the breaks!

D.E.A.R. (Drop everything and Read Middle School Program)

Our D.E.A.R.  program has got off to a very good start. Grades 6, 7, and 8 have been categorizing various genres of literature and choosing a book to read for pleasure during one of their study periods. We hope that a love for reading will be instilled in even the most reluctant readers through this program.

Although our students were given a list of books available in the library for their age group, they may want to check out this excellent site written by 10-15 year olds recommending and reviewing books. www.cool-reads.co.uk

Quiz Time in the Library.

Grades 4 and 5 will be doing a small research project during their library visits with Ms Marianne Dundon.  Apart from improving their general knowledge, they will also be learning the difference between fact and opinion.

Each child has chosen a subject he/she is interested in. This subject is then researched in order to find 5 interesting facts which students will present to the rest of the group.

Quiz Time will ensue and only those who have been listening to the presentation will know the answers thus gaining points and prizes for their team!

Many Thanks to Mrs. Rosa Gomez, our Spanish teacher, who has kindly donated the popular Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer.

Breaking Dawn  is waiting for you in the Library, not just in the cinemas!
