P.A.O.K B.C. visits Pinewood!

Three basketball players from PAOK B.C. visited Pinewood on Monday, March 17 for an anti-bullying event that was promoted by the U.S. Consulate in Thessaloniki. Mark Payne and D.J. Cooper form the men’s team and Niki Avery from the woman’s team talked to all secondary students about bullying, their experiences and their carreers, answering many questions that were asked by the students. After the discussion, students had the opportunity to take some shots with the players and a team of three Pinewood students played against the three PAOK players.

Mr. Robert Sanders, US Consul General in Thessaloniki, who was present in the event, received a signed basketball from the players and three more basketballs were donated to the school by the PAOK basketball club. Pinewood students were also invited to attend Saturday’s game against Kifisia B.C. for free and 12 of our students took the opportunity and watched this special game, that had celebrations for the win of the Korac European Cup by PAOK in 1994.
