Pinewood IT Classes Participate in EU CODE Week
October 14, 2015

“Europe Code Week is a grassroots initiative which aims to bring
coding and digital literacy to everybody in a fun and engaging way.”
(http://codeweek.eu/). Learning to code helps us to make sense of how
things work, explore ideas and make things, for both work and play.
What’s more it helps us to unleash our creativity and work
collaboratively with wonderful people both near us and all over the
world.
Pinewood Middle and High School students are
participating again this year in coding activities through the entire
week. A variety of activities are taking place from simple animations
using Scratch by the Middle School students, to Object Oriented
programming and HTML used by grades 9 and 10. Additionally, all students
are exposed to inspirational talks and videos by successful programmers
who encourage the young population throughout the world to learn how to
code, not only as a career path but also as a way to be creative and
have fun!
Visit the EU Code Week website to see Pinewood’s event on the map!
