Pinewood moves towards implementing the IB Primary Years Program Middle Years Program (MYP)

Pinewood is officially a candidate school for the IB Middle Years Program in Grades 6-10. As a complement to our IB Diploma Program in Grades 11-12, IB World Schools such as Pinewood share a common philosophy – a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education – that we believe is important for our students. Our goal in transitioning to a full IB continuum school from PreK through Grade 12 is to continually provide opportunities for our students to learn through a challenging framework of studies while simultaneously building critical 21st century skills, including critical and creative thinking, global citizenship, and social responsibility.
Ultimately, the aim of the IB program, as articulated in the IB Learner Profile, is to develop internationally minded students who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.
