PreK2 Visit the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art

Pre Kindergarten 2 children and some mums had the chance to not only talk about the Greek artist Yannis Gaitis at the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art, but to act out one his paintings! The painting, a political piece showing the effects of leadership, was a striking work using red and black. The children were guided through the story behind the painting to great effect using movement and hats. Afterwards, the children made their own paintings using stencils and rollers, producing beautiful pictures to take home. The trip to the museum was the perfect end to the children’s unit on Art and Artists, which also included a visit from IB Art teacher, Konstantina Kapanidou, who demonstrated portrait drawing for the enthralled children!
