Parent-Teacher Association
Pinewood American International School of Thessaloniki has an active Parents-Teachers Association (PTA), which was re-formed in September 2024 at the Elementary campus.
The mission of the PTA is to enhance the relationships building and positive school climate within the Pinewood Community, by expanding communication between Pinewood American International School and the families that are part of the school, in order to achieve maximum cooperation, and to play an active role in initiatives, aiming for the students’ wellbeing and growth.
The PTA will strive to become the channel between parents, school and the community where we live, as well as creating events that will be fun, educational and beneficial for everyone involved.
The PTA members volunteer their time to plan and organize the support for our events such as Open Day, Trunk or Treat, Movie nights, Carnival, etc., and communicate various initiatives with the parents and community. Those events for the community only happen because parents volunteer hours to run and support, in any way, the management and staff.

Conduct During Meetings
Active members are expected to abide by these guidelines during meetings:
- Respectful Dialogue: Members must speak respectfully, without interruption. Personal attacks or disrespectful comments are not tolerated.
- Speaking Time: To ensure everyone has a chance to speak, a time limit may be set for individual contributions.
- Confidentiality: Members must respect confidentiality regarding sensitive topics discussed in meetings.
- Attendance: Members are encouraged to attend all meetings. If unable to attend, notifying the PTA secretary in advance is appreciated.
Membership
Members of the PTA shall be:
- Parents, legal guardians, or adult household family members of a current Pinewood student(s).
- Pinewood staff and faculty members
Current Status:
The PTA is a group made of parents and teachers, finally being regrouped after many years in Pinewood. Currently we have 35+ members, who are also connected on Viber, and new ones are joining every month. You are welcome to join our weekly meetings and contribute to the discussion. The meetings of the PTA for the school year 2023- 2024 take place on Wednesdays, at 08.30. The PTA has a leading team, consisting of two (2) Co-Chairs, one (1) Treasurer and one (1) Secretary. The Leading members who are elected every September, volunteer their time to fulfill the mission and vision of Pinewood and the PTA. Automatically, all Pinewood families become “members” of the PTA when their children join Pinewood.
