Ms. Helen Filippidou

Born and raised in Giannitsa, Greece, Miss Helen Filippidou joined Pinewood in 2022 as the EYP and Elementary Librarian. Miss Filippidou holds a BA in Greek Philology from the Democritus University of Thace, a BA in Library Management from the Intenational Hellenic University and an MA in Management of Cultural Organisations from the Ionian University. Before becoming a member of the Pinewood staff, she was a tutor of Greek Language and Literature and did voluntary library management in many Elementary Schools. Ηer love for knowledge, interculturalism and continuous personal and professional development prompted her to participate in numerous programs in the fields of education and librarianship. Helen is fascinated by how children interpret stories and it is what prompted her to pursue a career in libraries. She loves how reading enables children to connect with other perspectives and human experiences.
