Prospective Dormitory Students

Eligibility Requirements

• Students must be under 18 years old at the start of their studies to be eligible for a Greek residence permit.

• Students cannot be turning 18 at the time of submitting their dormitory application.

• Students must have successfully completed their previous grade level.

• English proficiency requirements:

  • Grades 7–8: A2

  • Grades 9–12: B1 or higher

1. Complete the Online Application

• Submit the dormitory application form via the Pinewood website, providing all required personal and academic information.

2. Submit Required Documents
Provide the following for review:

• Official transcripts for the last three years, along with officially translated copies if the originals are not in English (both original and translation required)

• Student passport and parent(s) passport(s)

• Student birth certificate

• Admissions application fee of €90 (see the Tuition & Fees page for payment details)

3. Admissions Assessment

• After submitting the application and documents, schedule and complete the required admissions test with the Admissions Department.

• The test evaluates English proficiency, Mathematics, and Global Knowledge.

• Passing grade requirement: Students must achieve 65% or higher to be eligible for acceptance to Pinewood.

4. Interview

• Eligible students will be invited to an interview with a member of the Admissions and Secondary School team to discuss their interests, goals, and readiness for the boarding experience.

5. Boarding Committee Review

• Following the interview, accepted students will be referred to the Boarding Committee.

• Eligible students will be invited for a final interview before boarding placement is confirmed.

Please Note:

• Only completed admissions applications for the dormitory, including all required documents and fees, will be considered.

Steps Upon Acceptance to Pinewood

Once a student has been accepted to Pinewood, dormitory applicants will proceed with the following steps:

1. Referral to the Dormitory Liaison and Boarding Committee

The Admissions Department will refer eligible dormitory applicants to the Dormitory Liaison and the Boarding Committee. This ensures that each student’s needs and suitability for boarding are carefully reviewed.

2. Family and Student Interviews

The student and their family will be invited to a personal interview with the Boarding Committee. This meeting provides an opportunity to:

• Discuss the boarding program and daily routines

• Understand the student’s expectations, interests, and readiness for independent living

• Address any questions or concerns from the family regarding life at the dormitory

3. Boarding Committee Review and Final Decision

Following the interview, the Boarding Committee will review the application and make a final recommendation to the Admissions Department. Parents will be notified of the final decision via email.

These steps are designed to ensure a smooth transition into boarding life, support the student’s well-being, and create a strong partnership between the family and the school.

Boarding Acceptance

Step 1: Acceptance and Deposit

• Accepted dormitory students will be notified by the Admissions Department.

• Families are required to pay 50% of the dormitory fees within the given time frame to guarantee their child’s boarding spot for the academic year.

Step 2: Required Dormitory Documents
The Dormitory Liaison will provide accepted students with the following documents to complete prior to the move-in date, along with details of move-in dates and a list of items to bring to the dormitory:

• Signed Dormitory Rules & Regulations agreement

• Up-to-date vaccination records in accordance with Greek guidelines

• ADYM – Individual Student Health Report, completed by a Greek doctor

• Permission to Go Off-Campus form, signed by both student and parents

• Valid Greek Residence Permit (if applicable)

• Proof of valid health insurance, covering the student from entry into Greece until the end of the school year

Submission of Documents:

• A digital copy of all documents should be sent to admissions@pinewood-school.gr

• A hard copy should be provided to dormitory staff upon arrival

Visa & Residence Permit

• Parents are responsible for visiting the nearest Greek Embassy/Consulate in their home country to obtain a Type D Visa (if applicable) for entry into Greece and to apply for the Residence Permit at the Immigration Office within 40 days of arrival.

• Pinewood and Anatolia Dormitory are not responsible for assisting with or obtaining the Visa or Residence Permit, but will provide the necessary documentation.
