PRINTMAKING GRADE 8 2022

Grade 8 students were introduced to different types of printmaking such as relief printing, etching, screen printing and lithography. The subject matter was loosely linked to elements of each person’s culture and sports and interests. During our classes we explored all the steps of relief printing on a linoleum, from planning a rough sketch, creating a reverse image of it, using the carving tools safely, inking our printing plates and making identical editions of our print. Lastly, students learned how to authenticate their prints by numbering and signing them in a professional manner.
