Advisory, Health and Wellbeing sessions

During Advisory, Health and Wellbeing sessions we have been discussing career options with the High-school students. Ask your child about the aptitude test that they completed.  Were they surprised by any of the findings?  Did they learn about any career options that interest them?

We are encouraging students to find out the pros and cons of a particular occupation for themselves, as opposed to telling them. This helps them to learn responsibility, good decision making and to develop resilience.  When you ask your child about career choices, why not do the same? Avoid giving your opinion but rather use questioning to encourage your child to look at the career path objectively.

Middle-school students were learning everything about online safety and how they can be smart and safe online! Online safety refers to the act of staying safe online. It encompasses all technological devices which have access to the internet from PCs and laptops to smartphones and tablets.

Being safe online means individuals are protecting themselves and others from online harms and risks which may jeopardise their personal information, lead to unsafe communications or even affect their mental health and wellbeing.

Middle school students reflected on the use of the internet and social media, and completed a questionnaire regarding online behavior. They also created wonderful and very useful posters for our school, in order to raise awareness!
