First Annual Science Day – Open House

The first annual Science Day – Open House was held at Pinewood Schools on Wednesday April 30. This was a whole day STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education Event during which students from Grades 1-12 displayed their Experimental Science/Engineering Design projects. They communicated their findings and shared their ideas with other students, their teachers as well as parents and the Community. In fact, students had been engaged in such projects for a long time, even for months, conducting their research on different science topics under the guidance of their teachers and analyzing their results. A number of events were planned for this day with the purpose of increasing interest in STEM learning. These included a presentation on Nutigenetics and Nutigenomics by Dr. Notis Argiriou, a Senior Research Scientist, Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) as well as talks by Veterinary Students from the Veterinary School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
